Content & authority protection
AddMyLegacy uses multi-layer protection similar to major UGC platforms (e.g. YouTube Content ID), tailored for 3D assets and proof certificates.
Protection layers
- Rights declaration & staff review — creators must declare authority; staff approves before public publication or licensing.
- Platform exhibition consent — each asset may opt in (default) or opt out of the public Platform Exhibition and home-page featured samples. Opted-out works are excluded from exhibition surfaces; see Terms §5.
- Content ID (SHA-256) — approved assets enter a reference fingerprint library; new uploads are scanned for exact matches.
- Duplicate blocking — identical file hashes cannot be registered twice.
- Signed proof certificates — tamper-evident records; revoked on takedown.
- DMCA / abuse reports — statutory notices and general reports create claims and review queues.
- Copyright strikes — repeat infringers face upload suspension and account termination.
Platform exhibition
The exhibition shows preview-quality media only (not downloadable originals) unless a visitor purchases a license or receives approved access. Creators control inclusion via Allow platform exhibition at asset creation or on the asset detail page.
- Default: consent is on for new assets; uncheck to withhold exhibition rights.
- Denied assets are removed from /exhibition/ and home-page featured picks.
- Exhibition display does not replace licensing; commercial use still requires an explicit license or permission grant.
Strike policy
Strikes are issued when staff confirm infringement or enforce a takedown.
- 1+ strike(s): warning on account
- 2+ strike(s): uploads suspended (30 days)
- 3+ strike(s): account terminated (repeat infringer)
